I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really proceeding.
